Effective email campaigns and newsletters help nurture relationships with existing clients and prospects,
inform current and potential customers of new product and service offerings and extend the overall reach
of your brand.
The explosive growth of the internet has yielded an exponential growth in email marketing. It is a powerful
tool that, when used correctly, allows your organization to communicate your brand effectively and inexpensively.
Five Tips for an Effective Email Blast:
Make Your Best Elevator Pitch
Pretend you have a few seconds to convince a new or existing client to buy your product or use your service.
How would you design your "pitch" to engage their interest and entice them to learn more?
Make Your Copy Work for You
Use concise wording...when three words will do, go with one instead. Avoid overused buzzwords and cliches.
And above all else, spell check, spell check, spell check!
Have a Powerful Subject Line
Be creative or to-the-point, but make sure your subject line is distinct and professional and doesn't sound
"spammy." And word it so that even the busiest of your clients will want to take a moment to peek
inside.
Include a Call To Action
Be sure to leave your clients, or potential clients, wanting more...and knowing where to get it. Invite them
to take action. Include a promotional offer or coupon, or invite them to an upcoming conference or seminar.
Offer to send them white papers or demos. Just give them a reason to act!
Time Your Email Blast
With email marketing, timing can make all of the difference. Target your send-out to arrive in your customer's
inbox at an appropriate time of the day. When they are wide-eyed and bushy-tailed, but not overwhelmed with
the influx of work-related emails that commonly stockpile at certain days and times of the week. And never
send them over the weekend.
